Hot Gin Recipes To Melt Away Your Winter Woes

As the popularity of gin continues to grow, and the cold winter nights are here for another few weeks, we at Viners are enjoying some delicious hot gin recipes.

Forget your mulled wine and your hot chocolate; Gin is the hottest drink trend this winter.

Spiced Citrus & Apple Gin

This sweetly spiced tipple is perfect for an evening in front of the fire and can be made in minutes.

You will need:

  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 small stem of ginger, grated
  • 1 litre of apple juice
  • 2 teaspoons of honey
  • 50ml of your favourite high-quality gin per person

Directions:

  • Pour 50ml of gin into each glass.
  • Slice the apple and the orange with a Viners Titan Black 4.5″ Utility Knife.
  • Pour the apple juice into a Viners Soft Grip Milk Pan and drop in the cinnamon stick, orange slices, lemon slices and a sprinkle of the grated ginger.
  • Place the pan on a low heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the honey.
  • Pour the mixture through a strainer into your prepared gin glasses.
  • Garnish with an orange wedge if desired and enjoy!

Mulled Juniper Gin

You will need:

  • 50ml of your favourite high-quality gin per person
  • 100ml apple juice per person
  • 100ml of orange juice per person
  • 1 red apple
  • 1 orange
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon of sloe berries or juniper berries
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 whole cloves

Directions:

  • Pour 50ml of gin into each glass.
  • Pour the apple juice and orange juice into a Viners Copper Base Milk Pan and add the cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, cloves, and berries.
  • Slice the apple and orange with a Viners Titan Copper 4.5″ Utility Knife and add the slices to the pan.
  • Place the pan on a low heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour the mixture through a strainer into your prepared gin glasses.
  • Garnish with an orange or apple wedges if desired and enjoy!
