Viners, famous for cutlery since 1901, recently conducted a fun survey of cutlery-related questions via email.
A selection of comments from the survey: My style statement is simple and flowing. I like practical too though. It's best if they're both. I have the Alverston hall collection from Oneida this is the best set - have ever owned I have recently purchased two lots of cutlery from you and am really pleased with the quality of both. I like to keep one set for special occasions and always box it back up after the event. Can’t stand cutlery that is made too thin so there is nothing to get hold of! I always buy Viners because it's the best quality. I like quality, stylish stainless cutlery that is dishwasher safe! I trust Viners' quality! Kings cutlery is just a dream to which I have since added to with a set of fish knives and intend to keep on adding I like cutlery to be practical and also stylish. It is nice at a dinner party when guests compliment you on the cutlery before they have tasted the main course! Cutlery selected for practicability AND style I am hoping to receive cutlery as a wedding present! Cutlery was bought this year as gift for my daughters house wish i had got it!!!!!!!!!!!! Cutlery has to look good, feel good, be well balanced and match the place settings, and should be made of a metal that looks clean. It is important to be able to buy extra pieces individually and also to be able to buy EVERYTHING in one design. Have just bought recently a set of Viners cutlery. Very pleased with it. I like my everyday cutlery to be practical but a bit stylish also. I have had Viners cutlery all my married life and been very happy with it. Have recently bought a set for my daughter. Like it. I have cutlery to match my mood and choose accordingly. We have 'best' cutlery too for high days and holidays. Then daily, picnic, visitors, etc. I love good design in everyday items such as cutlery. Our every day set is good quality with a fun yet simple style element. We have been married 42 years and still use our wedding gift cutlery daily. I always have had Viners cutlery. In fact I have a canteen of cutlery which was a wedding present 39 years ago. I have just purchased a spare set of Viners cutlery because my wife must have scraped some into the bin when clearing off plates. I love my cutlery and use all the set. I have cake forks, coffee spoons as well as fruit, dessert and table sets. I just love your cutleries. Practical and stylish are good, but it's quality first. I like my cutlery to be practical and complement the table I had a set of Viners cutlery as an engagement present 36 years ago and am still using it. Bought some for my daughter this year. Cutlery is with you day in and day out. The lovely gift my sister gave me 30 years ago is still used daily although there are very many fewer pieces now they are still loved. We have two Viners sets, both Harley. One silver and one stainless for every day use. I like things styled a bit different but practical. Cutlery needs to be solid to hold, eyecatching and practical I like my everyday cutlery very much, but I also have a special canteen of cutlery for dinner parties which stays in pristine condition. Have an 8 setting Kings pattern It is a pleasure to eat with and all my friends admire it. In my opinion no other setting is as stylish and elegant as the Kings I like heavy feel cutlery that is reasonably sharp enough for steak. It’s always nice using shiny new cutlery with a mirror finish that hasn't been through the dishwasher a million times and become dull. Last year, after 33 yrs of marriage, I treated myself to a boxed Viners set of cutlery that I wanted. Not one that had been given to me as a wedding present! I'm always telling my children how important cutlery is. They laugh at me and call me old fashioned. Just bought some Viners Cutlery - Very good. Very pleased with it. I have Viners cutlery which I purchased with gift vouchers, I love it, very sturdy and cleans well. We use 2 sets of everyday cutlery which we mix and match. We also have a good dinner set for special occasions. "I take my own in to work as the items there are not very nice. I work in an office full of men - so my pink set is always returned to me from the dishwasher ! At home we use a set my partner got given for his wedding. It was never used until we moved in together. It is beautiful and I still use the presentation box it was displayed in. Replaced all my old cutlery with Viners cutlery this year - it is excellent. I love stylish cutlery and would not buy it just for practicality Cutlery needs to be stylish as it compliments your dinner set. It also makes your mealtime feel more special. I like nice looking cutlery that feels good in your hands. I bought two Viners bead pattern sets last year for a dinner party with 18 guests. It was half-price AND buy one get one free so I think I have it for life! I own Viners cutlery - both for everyday use and for special events. They are practical and, in most cases, can be a 'style statement'! I advise young people to buy the best they can afford, cheap brands need replacing and can be an embarrassment. Why spoil good food with poor cutlery? " Food is a joy to eat, why ruin it with poor cutlery? Have always liked the styles and quality of Viners and have several sets including my original canteen of 'Studio' from 1974. I love to give Viners as presents and feel that it shouts 'Quality'! It made me very happy to be able to purchase Viners studio range recently as my mum has a few pieces and the tea spoons were a childhood favourite of mine :-) If you have good cutlery it makes you feel good. A design cutlery sets off a dinner table I have a set for everyday and a set for special occasions Viners is a good reliable brand of cutlery I mix and match for normal use but keep the best if guests come for a meal We are still using a set of Viners cutlery given to us as a wedding present in 1973. We have used it every day since then! I like the quality of Viners cutlery for everyday use. It keeps its sparkle, unlike cheaper cutlery. I am pleased to place it on my table when friends call around for a meal. My Viners canteen of King's pattern only comes out on special occasions. I also have Viners for 'everyday' use but these look great too. The appearance of my cutlery is always very important to me and is always buffed after washing before going back into the drawer! I love good cutlery it makes the table look nice This is our best cutlery, we have daily cutlery. Why did I wait 25 years to get good cutlery! Since receiving a boxed set of your cutlery I have bought a large set for everyday use at home and a smaller set for my motor home, unfortunately a teaspoon has been thrown with the washing up water. Very good product proud to use it. Own original Viners Studio cutlery purchased in 1971. Still a classic lovely design. My cutlery is only mixed and matched because I and my boyfriend combined our sets when we moved in together. I would love to have stylish matching cutlery, but being young and broke it is not a priority. I have cutlery from 4 or 5 different sets for my everyday use. My special cutlery is your Bead design. I like to use stylish cutlery, but I also wish it to be dishwasher proof and practical. Viners have very durable cutlery. Excellent quality. I take my own cutlery to work. I do have practical cutlery but have a beautiful Viners Kings Canteen given as a present for Silver Wedding. I recently bought same for a Wedding Gift. |
